What to Expect
The Mentorship Program with Destined Traveler/Joy to the World Foundation is designed to offer young adults with intense spiritual training, significant time studying God’s Word, various cross-cultural ministry opportunities, individual discipleship with a mature Christian adult, tools to evaluate their personal gifting and future path, and challenging teaching. Our desire is to create an atmosphere where students learn about God, His Word, themselves, missions, and the world around them.
An average day may look a little like this:
7 Breakfast
8-10 Personal Quiet Time, Study, Reading, Practice of Spiritual Disciplines
10-2 Service and Lunch (helping at orphanage, visiting/serving other Christian ministries, prayer-walks, etc.)
4 -6 Orphanage (visit with girls, teach English classes)
6:30 Dinner as a team
7 Team Worship/Teaching/Prayer/Debrief
Some examples of ministry options could include: VBS for the Breanna’s House girls, travel into the hill country to serve/visit, construction for the orphanage, teaching English classes, working with native missionaries, serving refugees from Myanmar, serving missionary families in Chiang Mai, working with other Christian ministries, learning about and fighting human trafficking, prayer-walks around the city, maintenance of the orphanage grounds
In the midst of doing ministry, we will be taking opportunities for team-building and refreshment by enjoying the beauty and recreation Thailand offers. Trips and retreats could include: visiting an elephant camp, a trek into the jungle, a retreat on the white beaches of the south, swims in natural waterfalls, and visiting other popular tourist attractions.
