Trips

Want to come and serve alongside us in Thailand?  We host several trips a year designed to bring education and awareness to the Northern Villages and border regions as well as partner with organizations in populated tourist areas such as Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket.  We specifically focus on three different types of trips listed below, however, we are happy to tailor a trip to your specific needs.  When you come at a DT trip we organize your entire stay here in SE Asia.  Airport transfers, lodging, Counter-Trafficking education, cultural training and a comprehensive guided experience are what we do best.  Instead of coming to Thailand on your own, join with an organization who can strategically use you to fight trafficking.  It’s taken us years to learn the best ways to engage in this fight, so don’t waste your time here, join us!

DT Discovery:  Student Gap Year Trip:  (ages 18-25)

Discovery Trips are designed for “Gap Year” students who wish to take a semester break from University or desire to gain an humanitarian international experience before beginning a career.  Many of our students who come during this time are searching for answers to deep seated questions about who they are and what they should do with their life.  DT guides are available during this three month trip to assist in coaching students through deep questions and mentoring.  Very much like the Trekker trip, accepted applicants will spend time in Northern Villages, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Bangkok and Phuket.  In addition, our Discovery teams will push out into a Asean which is in the Eastern part of Thailand and a hot bed for trafficking.  Applicants need to be aware that a three month stay in Thailand can be taxing as the Asian culture is very challenging as to the slowness of pace, language barrier and often times a sense of isolation can occur.  DT guides are aware of the these issue and are available to encourage team members, however all applicants must be committed to the program and agree not to end prematurely unless an emergency arises.  Estimated Cost:  $3,600
